The initial compositional idea outlined in my proposal was essentially a personalized representation/engagement with the local sound-environment. Stemming from my understanding that the sound-world is on some level inherently participatory/collaborative; both in terms of it production and it’s revealing/exposition in the experience of listening, it seemed appropriate to rather than create a more personalized work, construct a collaborative platform to facilitate participation and engagement with the local sound environment.
From here the sound-map presented itself as a interesting referent point.
